BEAR Construction Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Corporate Renewable Energy stream in Rolling Meadows, IL. This role leads complex, multi-phased solar projects, ensuring on-time delivery and profitability while mentoring project teams and coordinating with field leadership.

The SPM will grow the renewable portfolio by strengthening client and partner relationships and expanding the vendor network, with emphasis on schedule discipline and robust reporting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects or multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capability; ability to collaborate with a team and delegate appropriately.
• Strong financial ownership mindset (budgeting, change management, profitability focus).
• Ability to create and maintain detailed project schedules and documentation.
• Experience delivering solar projects with multiple stakeholders and fast-track schedules.
• Experience building/expanding vendor networks in an emerging market segment.

Responsibilities

• Lead renewable energy projects with a focus on profitability, schedule performance, and stakeholder communication, coordinating with field leadership.
• Support renewable energy growth by building relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners; expand the vendor network.
• Develop, drive, and implement project goals; create and maintain detailed project schedules including 3-week look-aheads.
• Coordinate construction field staff with the project Superintendent/field manager and manage project financials to ensure profitability.
• Manage change events, subcontractor contracts, and timely accounting duties (invoicing, collections, AP approvals, reporting).
• Prepare and assist with project estimating as needed; ensure on-time project closeout and reporting.
