Job summary

RCG, Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a federal government customer in a fully remote environment. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' systems administration experience, Windows server expertise, virtualization skills, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Work is entirely remote with occasional travel to Washington, DC for meetings or operational support. Competitive salary range ($125,000–$135,000) and a comprehensive benefits package accompany this

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Systems Administration experience in enterprise IT environments.
• Experience administering Windows-based server environments.
• Experience supporting virtual and physical infrastructure.
• Experience performing system monitoring, patch management, backups and DR activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for non-technical audiences.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and support enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Manage virtual and physical servers, workstations, and appliances.
• Ensure continuous operation, security, and reliability of systems.
• Perform OS updates, patches, and maintenance.
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity.
• Perform backups, recovery testing, and data integrity checks.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.
• Support lifecycle management and upgrades.
• Develop dashboards and operational reports for performance monitoring.
• Document configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
• Participate in service improvement and modernization efforts.
