Senior Remote Production Operations Specialist

Job Summary

The Senior Remote Operations Specialist will be responsible for creating, overseeing, planning, and executing the technical management of remote sports categories and other special projects throughout the year. They will provide technical expertise to production and operations teams for planning and executing remote assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical surveys for upcoming events, assessing technical requirements, crew size, equipment needs, schedules, and costs.
• Develop plans and lead complex tasks influencing remote event outcomes.
• Provide cost information for remote technical elements, manage vendor contracts, and ensure adherence to cost standards.
• Create technical CAD drawings depicting signal flow for broadcasts.
• Supervise technical personnel on location, manage records, and approve crew and travel times.
• Lead planning, supervision, and reporting for remote operations when on location.
• Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of technical equipment, ensuring quality of remote broadcasts.
• Advise production teams on technical costs and options.
• Act as safety supervisor per OSHA and insurance regulations.
• Collaborate on technical process design for each event.
• Stay updated on technical innovations, approve vendor and facility selections.
• Maintain communication with other sport category managers about technical developments.

Required Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of equipment technology and procedures.
• Strong organizational, procurement, financial, and logistical skills.
• Proficiency with computer training related to technical equipment.
• Knowledge of electronics, broadcasting, video, audio, RF, lighting, and maintenance.
• Minimum 10 years of broadcast experience, mainly as a field technician.
• Extensive knowledge of HD broadcast operations.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and related software.
• Understanding of television electronics, formats, media management, transmission, signal routing, and IP systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly, manage teams, troubleshoot, and travel as needed.
• Leadership qualities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of ESPN and ABC Sports remote technical requirements.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma
• Technical or engineering courses in electronics or radio/TV.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's Degree

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range is $157,932 to $243,650, depending on location, experience, and skills. Additional bonuses, incentives, and benefits may apply.
