Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Clinical Denial Management Specialist III to perform advanced billing/denial responsibilities in a work-from-home role. Ideal candidate has 3+ years of clinical follow-up experience and EPIC proficiency.

This 100% remote position offers a Monday–Friday 8-hour shift. Preference for candidates near the DFW area, with CPC certification a plus and opportunities for professional growth within the Revenue Cycle Department.

Qualifications

• 3 years medical billing or collections experience.
• Experience with clinical denials for complex E&M services and/or major surgical procedures.
• Strong knowledge of medical claims recovery rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review, research and resolve coding denials for complex diagnostic studies, endoscopic, interventional and/or major surgical procedures.
• Contact payers to obtain reimbursement for denied claims and interpret contracts and regulations.
• Prepare and submit claim appeals per payor guidelines with supporting documentation.
• Identify denial trends and provide feedback to leadership to improve collections.
• Review accuracy of payments posted, reconcile discrepancies and adjust as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
