Job summary

Chads Design Build in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced carpenter for a full-time role focused on finish carpentry across residential remodeling projects. You will work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality results and read detailed plans to guide skilled workmanship.

This hands-on position covers kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations, with mentoring of junior carpenters and a strong emphasis on safety and organization on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience.
• Strong finish carpentry and general carpentry skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
• Personal hand tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry on residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Complete framing, finish carpentry, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other detailed finish work.
• Work closely with project managers and fellow team members to keep projects on schedule.
• Help maintain safe, clean, and organized jobsites.
• Troubleshoot field challenges and contribute practical solutions.
• Mentor less experienced carpenters and lead by example.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and coworkers throughout each project.
