Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Principal Remediation Practice Lead to support our Long Beach and Mission Viejo offices. The role emphasizes seller-doer responsibilities: scoping, client buy-in, and execution of subsurface investigation/remediation programs with regulatory considerations.

Technical focus includes RI/Feasibility studies, pre-design investigations, remedial design, action, and post-construction activities, with travel up to 70% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
• PE or PG license preferred.
• HAZWOPER 40-hour certification and AHERA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate work; provide technical leadership in investigations and remediation.
• Serve as primary client contact for scheduling, issues, and invoicing.
• Supervise a team conducting Phase I/II investigations and remediation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; support networking.
• Recruit, train, and mentor departmental staff.
• Identify opportunities for new business and additional project work.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed proposals.
• Secure signed client agreements before starting projects.
• Assist in scoping work and gathering initial data.
• Review/edit technical reports; prepare reports when involved in fieldwork.
• Provide strategic guidance and advance remedial practice.
• Spend ~80% in office writing/data analysis; ~20% in field sampling/research.
