POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Reliability Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment used in production operations. This role serves as a senior technical authority for Tetra Filling and Secondary Packaging equipment, providing expert mechanical guidance, coaching, and cross-functional leadership to reduce recurring equipment losses, improve asset reliability, and embed best practices to achieve and sustain best-in-class performance standards.

The position requires advanced analytical, coaching, training, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities, along with deep subject matter expertise in Aseptics. The Senior Reliability Specialist provides indirect leadership across shifts and functions, influences maintenance strategy and execution, partners with internal and external technical resources, and is expected to independently identify risks, lead improvements, and translate technical priorities into sustainable line performance results.

SHIFT:
  • 2nd shift: Monday-Friday 3:00-11:30pm OR 3rd shift: 11:00pm-7:30am
  • Schedule flexibility required to support training, TPM/TPMS events, and continuous improvement initiatives
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Own and continuously optimize the Preventative Maintenance (TPMS) reliability program for the aseptic platform in partnership with vendors, Tetra Pak resources, and internal leaders. Evaluate maintenance strategies, parts usage, PM windows, and event effectiveness to improve line reliability, reduce losses, and ensure standards and best practices are sustained across all PM events.
  • Serve as a Senior Tetra Pak Reliability Specialist for the factory, operating with a high degree of autonomy and leading the Reliability and Nestlé Maintenance Standard routines for planned and routine maintenance activities.
  • Lead complex problem-solving initiatives to address recurring equipment efficiency concerns and chronic losses using DMAIC, Go-See-Think-Do, Breakdown Analysis, and other structured methodologies. Provide system ownership, technical coaching, and root-cause capability building for Maintenance and Operations teams, including support for Steri Tank and related aseptic system improvements.
TPMS Event Coordination
  • Lead alignment, coordination, governance, and execution of the Tetra Pak Planned Maintenance System (TPMS) for installed factory assets, ensuring events are planned, resourced, and completed effectively.
  • Ensure TPMS event readiness by validating that materials, parts, labor plans, technical resources, and communication plans are prepared in advance to support safe, timely, and effective execution.
  • Ensuring on time completion of all events relating to the TPMS as required within MI 22.503 Annex 3 “Maintenance Models for Tetra Pak Carton Aseptic Lines”, ensuring strict adherence to the standards contained within.
Competency
  • Provide advanced technical competency, coaching, and knowledge transfer on the operation and maintenance of Aseptic Filling and Secondary Packaging equipment, with emphasis on building sustainable capability across Maintenance and Operations teams.
  • Set expectations and provide governance for proper use of AMM, DMO, PLMS, and related maintenance management systems. Translate technical findings and performance trends into clear written communication and recommendations for site leadership, senior Nestlé stakeholders, and Tetra leadership.
  • Develop, coach, and reinforce maintenance standards, tools, and technical routines that increase competency and improve the effectiveness of the Maintenance and TPMS teams.
Improvement Projects
  • Lead and manage improvement projects as a qualified Management of Change (MOC) project manager, ensuring technical scope, risk assessment, stakeholder alignment, implementation, verification, and sustainability are completed effectively. Partner with Tetra Pak Engineering and the onsite Field Engineer to ensure Eau Claire factory improvements meet expected Tetra and Nestlé standards.
Standards
  • Assess, prioritize, and lead factory maintenance improvement initiatives tied to unplanned and planned stoppage reduction targets. Use SDCA and continuous improvement processes to address top losses, standardize improvements, and influence sustainable maintenance practices across the Eau Claire site.
  • Follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets
  • Follow the plant safety rules; report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
  • Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (Universal waste, paper, plastic, food, etc.)
  • Follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets
  • Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices; report food safety and quality issues immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.
  • Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.

Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintains a focus on continuous improvement.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and a minimum of 7 years of progressive maintenance and reliability experience, including experience with aseptic Tetra Pak equipment; OR
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive maintenance, reliability, or technical specialist experience, including experience with aseptic Tetra Pak equipment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting aseptic Tetra Pak systems (preferred)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance planning, maintenance execution, technical training, and maintenance activity coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to support maintenance operations while meeting Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE), food safety, quality, and operational requirements.
SKILLS:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, provide technical direction, and coach others across departments and shifts
