Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division seeks an Engineering Specialist - Reliability. This hybrid role (3+ days on-site) can be located in Arden/Asheville, NC, Charlotte, NC, or Greenwood, SC, with relocation assistance and up to 25% travel across the US.

The Reliability Engineer will lead reliability strategies across product design, manufacturing, and field performance to improve robustness, reduce failures, and enhance system effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, or related field required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a technical role.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in advanced (R&D) engineering or new product development programs.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this position.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive system reliability and safety program plans. Track and report progress on program deliverables and develop recommendations for gate decisions.
• Lead Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives for electrical distribution and control systems and allocate requirements to subsystems.
• Build system-level reliability models and manage a system reliability growth plan.
• Oversee PROLaunch/DFSS projects and flex across divisions and sites.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams using A3 and 8D methodologies and drive permanent corrective actions.
• Analyze warranty and field failure data to identify trends and establish reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, failure rates, OEE).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive reliability improvements.
• Present reliability program status to internal and external customers.
