Senior Reliability Coordinator – NERC Certified System Operator (NCSO)

As part of MISO’s Reliability Coordination function, you will help conduct continuous analysis based on changing data and models and make adjustments to mitigate potential risks to MISO and its stakeholders. You will also resolve transmission congestion to maintain the reliable operation of the interconnection on a 24x7 basis and help maintain the integrity of, and the safe, reliable operation of, the Bulk Electric System. You will have the opportunity to provide input on process‑improvement initiatives.

Within one year, success will be measured by your demonstrated situational awareness, discretion, independent judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to act promptly and decisively in response to complex and unplanned situations.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or related field, OR possess at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated successful completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for the assigned functional desk, following on‑time training, or successful post‑hire completion of the certification.
• Current NERC/RC Certification, or the ability to obtain NERC Certification following on‑time training prior to operating the assigned functional desk.
• At least five years of work experience in one of the following areas: electrical engineering, generation system dispatch, transmission system operations, merchant operations, generation operational planning, or power accounting.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $138,000 – $148,000 USD annually. Position is also eligible for an annual bonus when individual performance and company objectives are met. MISO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k), vacation, sick and safe time, available from day one of employment.
