Senior Reliability Analyst

Job Summary

The Merc Engineering Research Center (MERC), a research institute of Mercer University, is seeking a Senior Reliability Analyst to support the Aircraft Directorate. The incumbent will collect, develop, and analyze maintenance data and produce daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term reliability analyses. They’ll lead reliability investigations and provide technical recommendations on systems, structures, and avionics, addressing reliability improvements, maintainability assessments, aging aircraft evaluations, and other pertinent information.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual and team efforts focused on aircraft and ground equipment coatings and/or corrosion prevention reliability and sustainment programs.
• Apply and develop research techniques to perform tasks and collaborate with teams in evaluating maintenance and technical data, gathering field maintenance issues, identifying trends, determining component and system reliability and availability, and recommending changes to technical data and scheduled maintenance programs.
• Investigate and coordinate with engineering to determine root causes of failures and possible resolutions to increase reliability, reduce costs, and increase availability.
• Ensure tasks are completed within cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and prepare and present formal and informal briefings as needed.
• Comply with all Executive Director-approved MERC-wide policies and procedures and implement approved MERC standard processes (MSP) promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Remain cognizant of customer needs and pursue new business opportunities.
• Ensure thorough familiarity and awareness of all MERC core capabilities and the current and potential customer base to promote MERC capabilities and interests to customers.

Required Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• High school diploma or associate's degree with 15 years of directly related experience in coating and corrosion prevention.
• Or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 9 years of directly related experience.
• Or master’s degree in a technical discipline with 8 years of directly related experience.
• Experience developing products using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in data evaluation, interpretation, and analysis to recommend actions.
• Technical and specialized knowledge in Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance, and/or Maintenance Steering Group 3 (MSG-3).
