Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Senior Release Manager to own the full release lifecycle within an Agile team. You will schedule, coordinate, plan, and control delivery in collaboration with the government counterpart, acting as the main liaison between development and production support for releases.

The role emphasizes strong PM skills and release management experience with cloud tech, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and ensure on-time deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a technical discipline.
• 5+ years of Release Management experience with similar responsibilities.
• 3+ years as an Analyst or Developer on Agile Scrum projects.
• Government experience or prior government clients.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and project management principles.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities.
• Track risks and issues impacting scope, schedule and quality.
• Measure progress to ensure timely releases.
• Communicate release details and schedules to stakeholders.
• Conduct release readiness, milestone, and Go/No-Go reviews.
• Provide regular release reporting to project teams.
• Collaborate with development staff to resolve build problems.
• Document issues and drive process or automation improvements.
• Maintain a release repository with build, dependencies, and notifications.
