Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Level III, Senior, and Lead levels to commission and test protection and control schemes for utility substations and plants across the U.S. This role involves hands-on testing of IEDs, reviewing drawings, and leading teams while ensuring safety and quality.

Travel up to 3 weeks at a time with housing and relocation opportunities. The position offers strong mentorship, career development, and a broad exposure to grid modernization

Qualifications

• 5+ years in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Experience reading One Line and AC/DC diagrams.
• Ability to perform field work in varied environments and weather.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Effective communication in English for client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across drawings (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing with tools like Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta.
• Identifies risks and develops test plans and practical protection concepts.
• Leads tasks within a project and provides technical leadership.
• Performs weekly site safety inspections.
