Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Level III, Senior, and Lead levels in our Field Engineering team to commission and test protection and control schemes for substations and plants across the US. You will work with IEDs, SCADA, and IEC-61850 interfaces, leading tests and mentoring field technicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Associate degree holders or equivalent may be Technicians; Bachelor's degree may be Engineers.
• Experience with volt-ohm-meter and hand tools.
• Experience reading One Line, AC/DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams.
• Ability to perform regular field work in various environments and weather.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English for safety materials and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across the drawing set.
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing with automated test sets for protection and control schemes.
• Identifies risks associated with testing and commissioning.
• Develops test plans and risk assessments for protection systems.
• Leads tasks on projects with defined scope and provides technical leadership.
• Performs weekly site safety inspections.
• Supports company and customer policies and procedures.
