Job summary

JET Electrical Testing, LLC in Hamilton, New Jersey, is seeking experienced Relay Test Technicians to join a growing IBEW union environment. You will apply high voltage test techniques, read schematics, perform relay and protection testing, and support substation projects across NJ/NY/PA.

Qualifications

Graduate Electrical Engineer or trained technician with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Able to read, modify and interpret all types of electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and logic diagrams.
Familiar with test equipment including circuit breaker timing apparatus, high-pot AC/DC equipment, high-current/low-impedance meters, relay test apparatus and power quality metering.
Must have valid and clean driver’s license and be willing to travel.
Must pass pre-hire drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Review print packages for large utility projects and verify design compatibility with existing equipment.
Lead a group of electricians to perform wiring in active relay control buildings.
Perform troubleshooting and analysis to recommend corrective actions or repairs.
Verify SCADA inputs/outputs and protection schemes (breakers, transfer trips, bus protection).
Update CAD drawings reflecting as-built/modified conditions; other CAD work may be done by others.
Generate technical reports detailing services provided and actions taken.
