Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert Co is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician in New Braunfels, Texas, to lead electrical testing and maintenance at power stations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical technology and over 5 years of relevant industry experience. Responsibilities include troubleshooting relays, conducting safety briefings, and training junior technicians. Qualifications

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Experience in installation and maintenance of power system equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting relays in electrical power stations.
• Lead safety briefings on job site, ensure hazard elimination.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits.
• Train and qualify Relay Technician I, II, or Relay Engineer I.
• Calibrate and perform tests on protective relays.

Skills

Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays

Knowledge of relay test software

Capable of troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls circuits

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education

Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/Electronic technology
