Job summary

AIG is seeking a Supervisory Accountant, Reinsurance, to join the Reinsurance Controllership team. You will ensure accurate sub-ledger accounting, robust internal controls, and timely financial reporting for external excess of loss and quota share reinsurance programs, with interaction across offshore platforms.

The role emphasizes timely close processes, program-specific analytics, and effective communication with management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, including leading teams in a controller role for a public P&C insurer.
• Strong knowledge of reinsurance operations, accounting, finance, and related controls/systems.
• Solid insurance-technical accounting expertise with understanding of balance sheet and income statement interrelations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate excess of loss and quota share cessions and related premium adjustments.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and premium adjustments.
• Collaborate with Reinsurance Collections on settlements and cash application.
• Perform SOX control reviews and ensure compliance.
• Support CFO and FP&A with reinsurance program inquiries and analyses.
• Process monthly for assumed reinsurance programs including retrocessions.
• Review Schedule F Part 3 balances for reinsurance recoverables, payables and funds held.
