Starr is seeking a Senior Reinsurance Accountant in New York to manage facultative and treaty accounting, perform periodic close activities, and drive process improvements. You will reconcile balances, monitor aging, and support audits while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 3+ years in insurance/reinsurance accounting, and strong Excel and reporting skills. CPA or insurance designation is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and maintain reinsurance accounting records for facultative and treaty business.
• Review and reconcile ceded premium, loss, LAE, commission, and recoverable balances.
• Analyze aged balances and resolve reconciling items.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Monitor recoverables and aging reports.
• Prepare and submit facultative billings and collection follow-up.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
• Support audits, SOX, and internal controls.
• Review reinsurance contracts and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Train and mentor junior accountants and offshore resources.
