Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Reinforcement Learning Engineer for a 100% remote role in the United States. You will design and implement RL solutions for sequential decision-making, build scalable training infrastructure, and collaborate with product teams on high-value RL use cases.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in CS/ML, 10+ years of RL research and engineering, and strong Python expertise with modern DL frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, ML, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ten+ years of RL research and engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major RL library or in-house RL stack.
• Experience training neural policies on GPU clusters.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reinforcement learning solutions for sequential decision-making in real or simulated environments.
• Develop, calibrate, and maintain simulation environments for large-scale agent training.
• Implement and evaluate modern RL algorithms including policy gradient, actor-critic, off-policy, and offline RL.
• Engineer reward functions and shaping strategies aligned with safety and desired outcomes.
• Apply offline RL and imitation learning when exploration is costly or unsafe.
• Build scalable training infrastructure for distributed RL and efficient experience replay.
• Design evaluation protocols including out-of-distribution and adversarial tests.
• Monitor deployed policies for drift and unintended behaviors, with dashboards and alerts.
• Stay current with RL research and translate promising techniques into production-ready solutions.
