Job summary

Xeris Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Reimbursement Access Manager II to lead payer strategy and patient access initiatives for rare disease therapies. This role collaborates with field teams, providers, and payers to address reimbursement barriers and ensure timely access.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of U.S. reimbursement, experience in HUB services, and the ability to drive cross-functional programs, training, and updates to internal teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech market access or reimbursement roles, preferably with rare diseases or specialty products.
• Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare reimbursement systems, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
• Experience working with HUB services, payer policies, specialty pharmacies, and patient support programs.
• Knowledge of coding and billing processes relevant to rare disease treatments (e.g., J-codes, CPT, ICD-10).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• A valid, US state-issued driver’s license is required as occasional driving to client locations is a core requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert on reimbursement and access issues for rare disease products.
• Develop strategies to overcome reimbursement barriers at patient and provider levels.
• Partner with field teams to provide reimbursement education and support to healthcare providers.
• Manage relationships with specialty pharmacy partners to ensure patient access.
• Track reimbursement trends and payer policy changes to inform market access strategies.
• Respond to reimbursement inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with patient services to resolve escalated patient access issues.
• Provide training on reimbursement processes, coding, prior authorizations, denials, and appeals.
• Support readiness activities for pipeline products with access materials and tools.
• Offer SME input on trends, compliance affecting Patient Access team.
• Identify strategies and programs to maximize Patient Access effectiveness.
• Coach and mentor new team members.
• Identify key HCPs needing support and conduct in-person meetings.
• Facilitate quarterly business reviews for high-touch offices.
