Job summary

State of Maryland is seeking a full-time administrative and policy support professional for the Office of Regulation and Policy Coordination in Maryland. The role reports directly to the Director and collaborates with MDH divisions to research, draft, and refine health regulations under COMAR.

The position emphasizes organizational duties, policy analysis, and day-to-day coordination of regulatory activities, with hybrid telework eligibility and a focus on ensuring compliance with evolving state

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
  • Substitution of up to four years of experience with 30 college credits for each year of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of related administrative experience may substitute for the required experience.
  • Master's degree may substitute five years of required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational, administrative and policy support to the Director of the Office of Regulation and Policy Coordination.
  • Assist in creating, modifying or retiring Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) based on legislation or policy changes.
  • Collaborate with MDH units to research, draft, and refine health policy, guidance and regulations.
  • Lead initiatives to implement system-wide changes delegated by the Director and support day-to-day regulatory promulgation.
