Job summary

Detego Health seeks a Senior Regulatory Specialist to administer state and federal licenses, permits, registrations, and regulatory filings across jurisdictions. You will coordinate with Departments of Insurance and other regulators, manage a master calendar, and ensure timely responses to inquiries, audits, and data requests.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, corporate, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing multistate licensing, permits, registrations, renewals, and regulatory filings.
  • Experience with insurance producer licensing, lines of authority, appointments, affiliations.
  • Experience with NIPR, Sircon, DOI portals.
  • Strong calendar, licensing database management and regulatory records.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, CAA, No Surprises Act, and CMS reporting.
  • Experience with healthcare TPAs, insurance carriers, brokers, MGAs, or similar regulated organizations.

Join a team that values growth, collaboration and the unique perspective you bring.Position SummaryThe Senior Regulatory Specialist is responsible for administering and coordinating the Company’s state and federal licenses, permits, registrations, regulatory filings, and related compliance obligations in all jurisdictions in which the Company and its affiliated entities operate.Reporting under the Legal function, the Senior Regulatory Filings & Licensing Specialist will serve as the primary operational point of contact for Departments of Insurance and other licensing and regulatory authorities. The position manages regulatory requirements affecting the Company’s healthcare third-party administrator operations, insurance producer, agency, brokerage, general agency and other insurance distribution activities, affiliated entities, and related healthcare operations.The Senior Regulatory Specialist maintains the Company’s master regulatory calendar and licensing database; prepares and submits initial applications, renewals, amendments, annual reports, and other required filings; monitors filing deadlines and regulatory developments; and coordinates internal responses to regulator inquiries, audits, examinations, and data requests.This position requires substantial experience with multistate insurance and healthcare regulatory processes, excellent project-management skills, and the ability to independently manage complex filing obligations. The Senior Regulatory Specialist does not provide legal advice but works under the direction of the General Counsel and collaborates closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Product, Sales, and other business functions.Key ResponsibilitiesLicensing, Permits & RegistrationsManage state TPA, insurance producer, agency, business entity, and other required licenses, permits, registrations, certificates of authority, and exemptions.Coordinate initial applications, renewals, amendments, appointments, affiliations, terminations, and supporting requirements through NIPR, Sircon, state DOI portals, and other regulatory systems.Monitor licensing requirements across jurisdictions and ensure the Company and applicable personnel maintain required licenses, lines of authority, appointments, continuing education, and other qualifications.Assess licensing and regulatory requirements before entering new jurisdictions, launching new products or services, or making material organizational changes.Regulatory Filings & Calendar ManagementOwn and maintain the Company’s master regulatory calendar, including licensing renewals, TPA reports, DOI filings, corporate filings, data calls, regulatory reporting, and other state and federal deadlines.Prepare, coordinate, and submit required regulatory filings, reports, certifications, notices, and supporting documentation.Establish internal deadlines, coordinate required information across teams, track filings through completion, and escalate potential delays or compliance risks.Support federal healthcare and employee-benefits reporting obligations under the direction of Legal, including Form 5500, RxDC, PCORI, Gag Clause attestations, CAA, No Surprises Act, CMS, and applicable HIPAA requirements.Regulatory Records & SystemsMaintain centralized and accurate records of licenses, registrations, appointments, regulatory filings, deadlines, correspondence, examinations, exemptions, and corrective actions.Administer regulatory calendar, entity-management, and licensing systems and establish effective documentation, retention, and quality-control practices.Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations to ensure internal records align with regulator and licensing-system records.Regulatory Research & Agency RelationsServe as an administrative point of contact with Departments of Insurance, Secretaries of State, licensing divisions, and other regulatory authorities.Monitor regulatory correspondence, bulletins, guidance, filing requirements, legislative developments, and changes affecting Company operations.Research and summarize licensing and regulatory requirements and prepare state matrices, surveys, and guidance for Legal and business leaders.Coordinate regulator inquiries and responses, escalating substantive legal issues, deficiencies, enforcement matters, or other significant risks to the General Counsel.Audits, Examinations & Compliance SupportCoordinate responses to regulatory examinations, audits, investigations, data calls, complaints, and information requests.Manage response deadlines, document collection, internal assignments, submission tracking, and regulator meetings.Track findings, corrective actions, remediation commitments, and supporting evidence through completion.Corporate & Business Expansion SupportSupport corporate entity compliance, including formations, foreign qualifications, annual reports, amendments, registered-agent matters, organizational changes, and governance records.Partner with Legal to evaluate regulatory requirements associated with new states, products, services, business lines, transactions, ownership changes, and other business expansion.Develop licensing checklists, state-entry matrices, filing requirements, and implementation timelines to ensure required regulatory approvals are in place before launch.Policies, Controls & Cross-Functional PartnershipDevelop and maintain procedures, checklists, and internal controls for licensing, filings, renewals, regulatory correspondence, and examination support.Identify compliance gaps, recommend corrective actions, and provide regular updates on licensing and regulatory obligations.Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, HR, Product, Claims, Sales, IT/Security, leadership, external counsel, licensing vendors, and regulatory agencies.Qualifications5–8+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, corporate, or regulatory compliance, preferably within a highly regulated environment.Demonstrated experience managing multistate licensing, permits, registrations, renewals, and regulatory filings.Experience managing business-entity and individual insurance producer licensing, including lines of authority, appointments, affiliations, and related requirements.Experience working directly with state Departments of Insurance and navigating regulatory and licensing systems such as NIPR, Sircon, and state DOI portals.Experience preparing regulatory applications, annual reports, amendments, regulator responses, and supporting documentation.Strong experience managing high-volume regulatory calendars, licensing databases, deadlines, and compliance records.Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, and regulator inquiries.Working knowledge of TPA and insurance licensing requirements, state insurance regulations, and corporate/entity compliance.Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, CAA, No Surprises Act, and applicable CMS reporting requirements.Experience working with healthcare TPAs, insurance carriers, health plans, MGAs, general agencies, insurance agencies, brokers, PBMs, or similar regulated organizations.Experience supporting an in-house Legal or Compliance function.Knowledge of regulatory examinations, market conduct requirements, corporate governance, Secretary of State filings, and
