Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Counsel, Regulatory - Technology to drive the global regulatory strategy for technology infrastructure and resilience. You will partner with technology risk, legal, and business teams to ensure regulatory obligations are met while enabling growth and innovation.

The ideal candidate has a JD, deep exposure to infrastructure/technology regulation, and experience guiding multinational organizations through complex regimes in the payments sector.

Qualifications

• JD from an established and reputable law school.
• Experience translating/interpreting complex regulations into clear operational guidance for technology/infrastructure, resilience, and supplier management teams.
• Experience in a regulatory position in a corporation, law firm or government context, working in payments/banking/financial services.

Responsibilities

• Support with the execution and interpretation of the regulatory obligations relating to infrastructure/technology, operational and enterprise resilience requirements across Mastercard’s platforms.
• Working closely with technology risk and controls teams to translate regulatory requirements into technology control frameworks.
• Coordinate and, if required, lead the engagement with regulatory colleagues across the globe in providing advice on regulatory regimes for technology/infrastructure, and operational and enterprise resilience in line with regulatory strategy and the applicable technology controls framework.
• Driving cross-functional alignment with legal colleagues on the necessary regulatory requirements of commercial contracts with third parties relating to technology and infrastructure deals to ensure business enablement.
• Support with defining and implementing scalable regulatory approaches to technology and operations, and enterprise resilience obligations to manage enterprise risk arising from existing regulations and compliance with evolving regulatory changes.
• Owning and overseeing enterprise execution with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a coordinated execution of regulatory obligations across infrastructure and related regulatory framework alongside Mastercard’s other regulatory obligations
