Under guidance of department leadership, you will represent the company in regulatory proceedings, prepare legal pleadings, provide strategic advice, and coordinate with external counsel to drive compliant, growth-oriented outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree required.
• 8 years of related experience typical for senior regulatory counsel.

Responsibilities

• Represents SDG&E in regulatory proceedings before state agencies.
• Prepares memos, briefs, motions, comments, affidavits, and legal documents.
• Provides strategic legal advice on complex regulatory issues and policy matters.
• Creates innovative legal solutions to facilitate business growth while managing risk.
• Leads provision of legal advice on strategic initiatives and cross-functional alignment.
• Resolves disputes with regulatory agencies with focus on compliance and minimizing penalties.
• Oversees external counsel and coordinates disputes resolution.
• Implements structured legal documentation systems.
