Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Senior Regulatory Analyst to provide strategic oversight of the IACUC compliance program, including SAFI and PAM activities. The role serves as a regulatory expert, guiding the research community, and developing institutional policies and SOPs to strengthen compliance.

The position requires strong project management, comprehensive knowledge of animal research regulations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, produce reports, and train staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 5 years of related research experience with Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience on an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or IACUC a plus.
• CPIA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations relevant to human or animal research.
• Review complex research documents for ethical and regulatory issues.
• May approve protocol submissions eligible for expedited review.
• Document decision processes per federal regulations and maintain reviewer records.
• Guide researchers and staff on resolving complex regulatory issues.
• Lead improvements in compliance oversight and reporting to IACUC and Institutional Official.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, policies, and tracking systems for compliance.
• Deliver training and education to faculty and study staff on review processes.
