You will work with state agencies and advise leadership on policy risks and opportunities; hybrid work with occasional onsite presence is available. This role focuses on state energy and environmental policy and regulatory strategy.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops regulatory positions and drafts complex filings; structures arguments and evidence for approval.
• Coordinates cross-functional evidence packages and aligns timelines to regulator milestones.
• Advises on compliance for growth initiatives; outlines regulatory pathways, risks, and mitigations.
• Represents the organization in technical committees or industry forums; explains compliance rationale and policy outcomes.
• Crafts well-supported responses to deficiency letters or data requests; negotiates timelines and commitments.
• Mentors junior staff on drafting techniques, regulator engagement, and evidence building.
• Engages with state policymakers to advance energy and environmental policy priorities.
• Builds relationships with agency staff and stakeholders for potential advocacy alignment.
• Advise leadership on agency priorities, policy risks and engagement strategies.
