Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking an Environmental Agency Advocate Senior Advisor in Agency Relations (Regulatory Affairs) to shape regulatory strategy and engage with state and federal agencies. The role focuses on creating regulatory pathways for priority initiatives and influencing policy positions.

The position emphasizes collaboration across OUs, leadership engagement, and programmatic permitting for federally regulated lands, with a hybrid work mode and travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of experience in case management, energy markets, environmental sustainability or energy-related regulatory policy.
• Experience communicating across policy makers, agency staff, internal and external leaders.
• Experience with regulatory permitting and environmental policy input.

Responsibilities

• Manages relationships with federal and state agencies at multiple levels; develops engagement strategies.
• Leads meetings with agency leadership to discuss priorities, progress, and challenges.
• Provides input on prioritization and policy positions to inform SCE decisions.
• Leads development or renewal of programmatic permits and agreements on federally regulated lands.
• Coordinates input on environmental policies, regulations, guidelines, and legislation.
• Represents or supports SCE in regulatory proceedings and stakeholder meetings.
• Communicates agency updates and decisions affecting SCE strategy.
• Builds relationships with regulatory agencies and external environmental organizations.
• Ensures protection of sensitive information and data with highest standards of conduct.
