Job description

The Senior Oncology Dietitian is considered an expert in oncology nutrition care. The Senior Registered Dietitian works closely with the multidisciplinary cancer team to provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to individuals and groups in an outpatient cancer setting. The dietitian provides nutrition care to help patients meet their medical goals and objectives, including addressing nutrition-related problems, chronic disease management, disease prevention, and overall wellness. Utilizing the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT), the dietitian assesses nutrition status, identifies nutrition diagnoses, and develops, implements, and evaluates outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients at nutritional risk. The Senior Registered Dietitian provides nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and the community. Responsibilities also include training nutrition and dietetics interns and other healthcare professional students; applying evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines, instructional methods, and tools; participating in cancer committees and quality improvement programs related to oncology nutrition; assisting with the development of workflows, policies, and procedures; and mentoring and training new dietitians and staff in nutrition topics and evidence-based research.

Compensation

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is PS/29S $85,790 -$123,603 per year per year. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
