Job summary

University Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse (Infusion Center) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for adult oncology patients in Outpatient Oncology Services. The role requires applying chemotherapy and radiation therapy knowledge to ensure safe, high-quality care and outcomes.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, supporting clinic operations, and adhering to UH, Joint Commission, and DOH standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current New Jersey RN license required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of full-time hospital nursing experience preferred.
• Oncologic nursing experience preferred.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate and/or Radiation Therapy Certificate required.
• IV/Venous Access Device Certification required.
• Certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.
• Must be able to work predetermined flexible hours.

• Supports daily clinical and office operations within the oncology practice setting.
• Demonstrates collaborative team-oriented approach and rotates among Oncology Service departments as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of UH, Joint Commission, and DOH regulations and standards.
• Participates in evidence-based nursing practice, QA activities, and PI programs.
• Promotes excellence in patient care through effective communication, teamwork, professionalism.

About The Role

The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Infusion Center) position is to administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families in accordance with professional nursing standards.

The Staff Nurse will utilize knowledge of chemotherapy and/or radiation oncology procedures to assess, screen, evaluate, educate, and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards to adult patients who are under the care of the Outpatient Oncology Services team.

The role of the RN includes practice/office support. Always demonstrates team approaches and flexibility by rotation between Oncology Service Departments as required. Shows a working knowledge of UH, Joint Commission & DOH regulations. Participates in evidence based nursing and related QA and PI endeavors.

• Promotes excellence in patient care through effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare professionals required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of full-time hospital nursing experience preferred.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Provider Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate and/or Radiation Therapy Certificate required.
• IV/Venous Access Device Certification required.
• Required certifications must be obtained within the first ninety (90) days of employment if not already held and maintained throughout employment.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.
• Must be able to work predetermined flexible hours.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is $46.46 - $63.82 . University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.
