Qualifications

General Description

The mission of Metrocare Services is to serve our neighbors with developmental or mental health challenges by helping them find lives that are meaningful and satisfying. We are an agency committed to quality, gender-responsive, trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring disorders. Metrocare programs focus on the issues that matter most in the lives of the children, families, and adults we serve.

The Senior Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) programming goals with children with Autism in a clinic-based or in-home environment, as assigned. The primary skills include functional communication training, socialization, and addressing challenging behaviors. Support for the RBT/Behavior Intervention Specialist will include behavior data entry, creation of learning materials, and staffing coverage. The Senior RBT will carry a caseload of individuals receiving ABA treatment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Collaborate to develop target goals with the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), parents/caregivers, and other clinical team members.
  • Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for individuals served in various formats.
  • Plan and utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and materials.
  • Participate in staff and treatment team meetings regularly.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of individuals’ achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Manage behavior and administer interventions according to individualized treatment plans.
  • Document interactions and session summaries within electronic health records.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers before and after sessions.
  • Maintain an organized, clinical environment for individuals and team members.
  • Ensure tracking of supervision hours to maintain RBT credential.
  • Input behavioral data and update graphs for individuals served.
  • Create learning materials for behavioral interventions.
  • Provide session coverage during team absences.
  • Deliver at least 22 hours of direct intervention per week.
  • Manage missed sessions and schedule up to 8 hours of make-up sessions monthly.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred: Two years of experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities
  • Must hold an active RBT certification from BACB and maintain it without lapse

Skills:

  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and deal with standardized situations
  • Proficiency with computer software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Valid Texas Driver License or equivalent in other states, with ability to obtain Texas license if applicable
  • Liability insurance if operating a vehicle for work
  • Biannual CPR and annual SAMA training
