Job summary

Amentum in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks a Senior Wargame Designer to lead the design, development, and execution of advanced red-on-green wargames supporting U.S. Army training, experimentation, capability development, and operational analysis.

You will translate military doctrine and CONOPS into engaging game mechanics, develop opponent decision models, apply game theory, and ensure rigorous, defensible scenarios across land, air, maritime, space, cyber, and information domains.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in relevant fields with 8+ years with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience designing adjudicated, seminar, matrix, tabletop or computer-assisted wargames.
• Experience supporting Army, DoD, NATO organizations.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. Army doctrine and Multi-Domain Operations (MDO).
• Strong grasp of decision science, game theory, and operational analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine red-on-green wargames for U.S. Army sponsors.
• Create systems representing land, air, maritime, space, cyber, and information domains.
• Develop opponent decision models and COA analysis based on threat doctrine.
• Incorporate Army concepts, planning methodologies, and mission command into game mechanics.
• Translate CONOPS into playable, defensible game structures for experimentation.
