Job summary

Avenue5 is seeking a regional controller to produce monthly statements and financial analyses for multiple portfolios, support third-party audits, and serve as the primary contact for technical accounting issues.

This role enforces GAAP, leads financial forecasting, and ensures timely reporting to clients, managing days payable, and protecting internal controls. Travel up to 5% may be required. CPA or MBA preferred; Yardi Voyager and RealPage experience essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field is required. MBA is preferred
• CPA license is preferred
• Five or more years of experience in an accounting role is required
• Three or more years of experience in multi-family property management accounting is required
• Three or more years of direct management experience is required
• Experience in Yardi Voyager and RealPage is required
• Familiarity with GAAP in the property management industry is required

Responsibilities

• Generate and evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for managing partners, investors, and lenders for all properties under management and consulting entities
• Monitor debt agreements and ensure compliance with lending contracts
• Develop analysis and financial modeling to support regional leadership and clients
• Manage accounts payable for properties in assigned region
• Develop cash management reporting including monthly cash flow projections
• Confirm that all filing deadlines are met, and all reporting requirements are fulfilled
• Ensure compliance with third-party client accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and associate development and corrective feedback
• Perform other duties as assigned
