Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and manage complex refrigeration and facility systems across multiple locations. You will lead cross-functional efforts with Operations, Maintenance, IT, and vendors to improve uptime, efficiency, and resilience of critical infrastructure.

The role requires deep expertise in ammonia and Freon refrigeration, HVAC, and maintenance planning, with a track record of multi-site leadership and capital project support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial refrigeration or cold chain engineering.
• Experience with ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, HVAC/mechanical systems.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and technical teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PSM, IIAR, energy efficiency and automation.
• Capable of CMMS, maintenance planning, and capital project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of facility and operational systems.
• Provide advanced technical expertise for infrastructure, automation, controls, mechanical, electrical systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and vendors to drive improvements.
• Monitor performance, analyze trends, and develop solutions to improve uptime and efficiency.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop standards, procedures, and system specifications for consistency and compliance.
• Support capital projects from concept through startup.
• Evaluate modernization strategies and emerging technologies.
• Ensure safety, environmental, regulatory, and company standards compliance.
