Job summary

CEJarrell Contracting in Saint Louis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop refrigeration systems for grocery, commercial, and industrial buildings. You will prepare refrigeration drawings, equipment selections, and system layouts based on project requirements and applicable codes.

Collaborate with the engineering supervisor, project managers, CAD/BIM teams, and field staff to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Refrigeration design experience in commercial construction is a plus.
• Familiar with industry standards and codes (IIAR, ASHRAE, IECC, IMC).
• Proficient in refrigeration load calculations and software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop refrigeration systems for grocery, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Prepare refrigeration drawings, equipment selections, and system layouts based on project requirements and codes.
• Collaborate with engineering supervisor, project managers, CAD/BIM teams, and field staff to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
• Prepare load calculations, energy code compliance, and system sizing.
• Support preconstruction efforts including budgeting, system selection, and value engineering.
• Participate in field walks, construction support, and final system review.
