Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer to lead design, optimization, and lifecycle management of facility and operational refrigeration systems across assigned locations. You will provide advanced technical expertise in infrastructure, automation, controls, and mechanical/electrical systems to improve uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial refrigeration or cold chain engineering.
• Experience with ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, HVAC/mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and technical teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PSM, IIAR, energy efficiency and automation.
• Experience with CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and capital project execution.
• This role requires >40% travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of facility and operational systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Provide advanced technical expertise for infrastructure, automation, controls, mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, EHS, and vendors to identify and execute improvements.
• Monitor performance, analyze trends, and develop solutions to improve uptime and capacity.
• Lead root cause analyses for failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop engineering standards, procedures, and system specifications to ensure compliance.
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades from concept to startup.
• Evaluate modernization strategies and emerging technologies for operational goals.
• Ensure safety, environmental, regulatory, and company standards compliance.
