Job summary

City Building Engineering Services (CBES-US) is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to design and prepare plans for supermarket refrigeration installations on new stores, remodels, and capital maintenance projects. You will assess existing equipment and recommend maintenance, modification, or replacement as part of remodels.

You will work on a single selected supermarket client, coordinating with the Refrigeration Engineering Manager and Project Manager, using AutoCAD and Excel to create plans,

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in HVACR, construction or engineering design services industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience reviewing refrigeration systems, cycles and controls (including R744 - CO2).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to travel 10-20% (overnight travel required).
• Self-directed with initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Design full field-erected refrigeration system with piping sizing and equipment selection.
• Prepare refrigeration plans and equipment schedules using AutoCAD and Excel.
• Prepare installation specs incorporating project-specific requirements.
• Conduct field inspections and assess equipment for remodels or maintenance.
• Prepare specs, solicit quotes and issue requisitions for refrigeration equipment.
• Assemble bid document packages for competitive bids.
• Develop phasing plans coordinating installation with project schedule.
• Update refrigeration plans for fixture plan revisions.
• Assist inspections for conformance to plans and specs.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers on project specs.
• Provide assessments of existing HVAC equipment with recommendations.
