Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a Refrigeration Installation / Startup Technician to install, start up, and verify the operation of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems at customer sites in the Cullman, AL area. You will work with customers, internal teams, and vendors to ensure projects meet engineering specifications.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent, EPA 608 Level 3 certification, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or 10 years related experience or equivalent
• EPA 608 Certification level 3 required
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Physically able to climb ladders, work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs
• Excellent verbal and written communication, detail oriented and motivated
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed
• Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints relevant to installation

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and functionality checks on newly installed HVAC, plumbing and electrical components and systems
• Ensure equipment operations per engineering or factory specs and codes
• Interpret drawings and identify errors to update supervisors
• Install/adjust thermostats, sensors, controllers, and related components
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
• Explain work performed to customers and conduct building automation startup tasks
• Read, analyze, and interpret plans, specs, and regulations
• Maintain truck inventory and adhere to vehicle maintenance program
• Lead others on projects and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
