Job summary

Hunt Refining Company seeks a Senior Technical Support for Personnel to oversee refinery operations, advise management, and guide engineering teams. The role involves training, troubleshooting, and providing technical reviews of designs, MOC’s, and change orders.

The incumbent will also identify opportunities for process improvements and lead long-range refinery projects with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college.
• Eight or more years of refinery/petrochemical experience and knowledge of refinery processes.
• Proven experience in refinery planning or process equipment design.
• Demonstrates leadership in improving income generation and reducing costs.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Effective collaboration with management, engineers, and hourly personnel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead classes of 2–20.
• Familiarity with refinery process software such as simulation and design tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor refinery operations and advise management and engineering of issues.
• Advise technical staff and assist planning and troubleshooting.
• Assist in training technical, management, and hourly personnel.
• Provide technical review of designs, MOC’s, and change orders.
• Troubleshoot refinery problems using engineering principles and field visualization, collaborating with Operations.
• Serve as a go-to person for Operations and Engineering personnel.
• Identify minor and major refinery changes to improve safety, reliability, profitability, and compliance.
• Develop long-range processes and new product lines to improve refinery profitability.
• Scope, develop, and provide process design for refinery projects.
• Obtain support and funding for major projects.
• Assist in commissioning and troubleshooting major unit or system changes.
• Improve unit and system procedures and coordinate long-range functions such as PSM programs.
• Provide senior advisory support to management and other departments within the refining business unit.
• Advise on personnel performance and potential, both technical and non-technical.
