Job summary

CVR Energy seeks a seasoned process control engineer in Oklahoma to design, implement, and maintain refinery control systems. You will interact with planning and operations to optimize targets and mentor junior engineers, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities include developing HMIs, supporting control system upgrades (CPM, Trace, Dynamo, PI), and ensuring Haz-Op/PHAs are properly addressed. Applicants must have strong PLC/troubleshooting skills and English fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 6+ years of process control engineering and implementation experience.
• Preference for Honeywell TDC-3000 and Experion experience.
• Familiarity with field instrumentation and control-system interaction.
• Experience with SIS and PLC programming/troubleshooting is preferred.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain control systems to optimize product quality, cost, and safety.
• Provide daily coordination with Planning and Operations to meet targets.
• Lead Controls change (MOC) processes for safe, reliable operations.
• Develop and maintain HMIs for operator interaction, per standards.
• Sponsor and upgrade control applications (CPM, Trace, Dynamo, PI) as needed.
• Support projects involving process control and ensure compliance with standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best automation practices.
• Read loop diagrams/electrical drawings and assist maintenance with troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with Haz-Op, PHA, and alarm rationalization.
