Job summary

Chevron Corp. in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Machinist to perform maintenance, repair, and installation work across refinery field and shop settings.

The role requires journey-level Millwright skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work 4x10 day shifts with overtime and on-call requirements. You will maintain steam systems, valves, pumps, and machinery, read blueprints, and collaborate with Reliability, Operations, and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• A minimum 3 years experience as a Millwright in the refining or petrochemical industries.
• Must be able to use computers to enter work histories and perform corporate compliance activities.
• Typically 4x10 dayshift schedule; shifts may vary; overtime/weekend work may be required.
• Willing to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards.
• Willing to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodation.
• Willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation.
• Willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair steam and mechanical drive systems such as steam turbines and electric motors.
• Maintain and repair process equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors.
• Read mechanical drawings and blueprints and use hand, power, and precision tools.
• Perform troubleshooting, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rotating and reciprocating equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, assemble, and install equipment and machinery as required.
• Work in Process Plant, Shop, and Off-Plot environments.
• Plan and organize own work and work independently or as part of a team.
• Ensure safe and economical use of resources and reduce costs where possible.
• Communicate across all levels of the organization including Management, Technical, Operations, and Maintenance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations.
