Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Senior Reentry Systems Engineer to lead design assessments, performance evaluations, and data analysis for strategic reentry systems tied to ballistic missile and hypersonic programs. You will guide trade studies, integrate data, mentor engineers, and present findings to sponsors and leadership, with travel 30–35 days/year and eligibility for Top Secret clearance.

This role requires a B.S.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Technical expertise in reentry-related areas such as aerodynamics, flight dynamics, subsystem performance, system integration, or modeling and simulation.
• Experience leading complex analyses, design assessments, or multidisciplinary investigations.

Mansioni

• Lead independent engineering assessments of reentry system design, performance, and risk.
• Direct complex trade studies on design alternatives for reentry systems.
• Integrate design, production, ground and flight test data to assess behavior and inform recommendations.
