Job summary

Hitachi Vantara is seeking a Senior Red Team Engineer to lead deep security assessments across web apps, APIs, networks, and cloud platforms. You will identify vulnerabilities, validate controls, and deliver actionable design improvements.

You will mentor team members, contribute to security standards, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to reduce risk and strengthen our security posture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in information security, including 4+ years in penetration testing.
• Experience across web apps, APIs, networks, cloud, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Knowledge of pentest methodologies, attack frameworks, and OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with cloud security assessments in AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation with Python/PowerShell/Ruby or similar.
• Knowledge of Active Directory security, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and post‑exploitation techniques.
• Experience with containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Certs such as OSCP/OSCE/GPEN/GWAPT/GXPN/GIAC or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced security assessments across web applications, APIs, network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Identify vulnerabilities, validate security controls, and provide actionable remediation recommendations.
• Perform hands-on penetration testing and red team activities; simulate real-world attack scenarios.
• Mentor colleagues, contribute to security standards, and support incident response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive security-by-design practices and risk reduction.
