Job summary

Shutterfly seeks a Senior Application Security Engineer (Offensive / Red Team) to lead offensive engagements against its critical applications and supporting infrastructure, collaborating with the Blue Team to drive Purple Team outcomes and stronger defenses.

You will educate developers on secure coding, guide remediation, and mentor junior engineers while aligning security with business goals in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or hands-on experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience leading offensive security work, such as web app pen testing or Red Team engagements.
• Proficient in Java and able to review code in major languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a risk-based security approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead offensive engagements against applications and infrastructure using tested techniques.
• Collaborate with Blue Team to improve detections and responses.
• Utilize AI/LLM tools to accelerate reconnaissance, payload generation, and testing.
• Lead threat modeling exercises and risk assessments for new and existing apps.
• Mentor junior security engineers and educate developers on secure coding practices.
