Job summary

MissionEdge Technologies is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator / Infrastructure SME to support enterprise systems in a secure, mission-critical environment. This role centers on Red Hat Linux administration, server infrastructure, networking, automation, and troubleshooting across physical and virtual environments.

The ideal candidate will independently troubleshoot complex system issues, maintain secure Linux environments, automate tasks with Bash, Shell, and Python, and

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in tech + 5+ years, or 12 years experience in lieu.
• 5+ years hands-on Linux systems administration, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Strong Linux admin, troubleshooting, installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, UDP, routing, firewalls, and connectivity.
• Experience writing Bash/Shell and Python scripts for system administration and automation.
• Experience with server backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience supporting physical and/or virtual servers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot RHEL and Linux systems.
• Install, patch, and maintain Linux servers.
• Perform system health checks and performance monitoring.
• Diagnose complex Linux, networking, and application issues.
• Support servers across physical and virtual environments.
• Configure system services, storage, and networking.
• Develop Bash, Shell, and Python scripts for automation.
• Support configuration management with Ansible or Puppet.
• Create and restore system backups; participate in disaster recovery.
• Apply Linux security best practices and hardening.
• Document configurations and troubleshooting processes.
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance windows.
