Job summary

Maximus in Colorado Springs seeks an experienced OpenShift/DevOps Engineer to architect, deploy and manage containerized applications across multi-cluster OpenShift environments on-site. The role requires an active Secret clearance and strong Linux/automation expertise.

You will implement monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana), patch management with Red Hat Satellite, and CI/CD pipelines to support reliable deployments. Expect on-call rotations and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy containerized applications using OpenShift for performance and scalability.
• Implement and optimize monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana.
• Transition OpenShift cluster operations to partially disconnected environments and deploy security updates.
• Automate cluster provisioning and scaling to reduce deployment time and human error.
• Manage multi-cluster OpenShift environments across production and development with high uptime (99.99%).
• Share knowledge and update documentation on Red Hat Advanced Cluster Manager and Kubernetes management.
• Integrate Red Hat Satellite for patch management and system updates across environments.
• Develop disaster recovery plans and backup strategies for critical systems.
• Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, NFS within RHEL environments.
• Perform kernel tuning and system optimization for performance and reliability.
• Implement security policies using SELinux and firewall configurations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and corrective actions.
• Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, encryption, and network security.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage for cost efficiency and performance.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing in cloud environments.

Job-Specific Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy containerized applications using Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

• Transition OpenShift cluster operations from connected to partially disconnected environments, ensuring seamless deployment of critical security updates.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements

• An active Secret Clearance is required.
• Due to federal requirements, only US Citizens can be considered. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered.
• 12+ years of experience with 7+ years working directly with RHEL. Candidate should show clear career progression in RHEL engineering.
• Demonstrated focus on system integrations and DevOps
• 4+ years should include hands on OpenShift experience.
• Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required, so candidates must reside within a commutable distance.
• Additional tasks to be assigned as needed.
