Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Environmental Quality seeks an Environmental Program Supervisor I (NS) to lead the Recycling and Materials Management Section within the Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service. The role oversees day-to-day RMMS operations, manages grants and data reporting, and partners with external stakeholders to grow North Carolina's circular economy.

Hybrid telework is available with routine office and remote workdays, supporting statewide program

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or closely related field required.
Three years of progressive experience in environmental work or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day operations of the RMMS Section to meet goals and timelines.
Oversee grant administration, data collection, management and reporting requirements.
Analyze key programmatic metrics and data to inform strategic planning for the Section, Division, and Department.
Build cooperative relationships with external partners and NC DEQ regulatory divisions in support of recycling and sustainable materials management.
