Job summary

Mercury Com is seeking a Senior Recruiter - Compliance in New York, NY to lead end-to-end recruiting for compliance, risk, and data governance teams. You’ll own full-cycle hiring for technical and analytical roles and partner with leaders to design thoughtful interview processes.

You will build targeted sourcing strategies, engage niche talent pools, and leverage data to improve pipelines and candidate experience, while championing inclusive hiring across Mercury’s regulatory environment.

Mercury.com is hiring a Senior Recruiter - Compliance in New York, NY to drive end-to-end recruiting for teams supporting compliance, risk, and data governance. This role owns full-cycle hiring for technical and analytical positions, partners closely with function leaders, and uses recruiting data to refine hiring processes and candidate experience.

Role scope

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical and analytical roles across teams such as Risk Strategy, Compliance Data Modeling and Analytics, and Information Security, with flexibility to support engineering and broader Compliance and Risk searches.
• Develop a strong understanding of Mercury’s products, business model, and risk and regulatory environment to align hiring priorities with business needs.
• Partner with hiring managers to define success, identify essential technical and domain expertise versus skills that can be learned, and design thoughtful interview processes.
• Build targeted sourcing strategies for niche talent pools, including candidates with backgrounds spanning data science, analytics, security, engineering, and financial services.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to hiring leaders using talent mapping, market insights, and recruiting data to inform decisions and calibrate expectations.

Candidate engagement and process improvement

• Maintain lasting candidate relationships and communicate a tailored, compelling story about potential impact at Mercury.
• Champion inclusive hiring practices and help guide interview teams toward consistent, evidence-based decisions.
• Lead recruiting for new and evolving roles, adding structure to ambiguous searches and adapting as you learn.
• Use recruiting data to identify bottlenecks, strengthen pipelines, and improve hiring outcomes and candidate experience.
• Flex across teams and role types as priorities shift, applying the same curiosity, urgency, and care to each search.

What you bring

• 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience and 5+ years overall experience in a talent, people, or HR-equivalent function.
• A track record hiring technical or quantitative roles, including areas such as compliance analytics, data science, information security, or related functions.
• Direct experience recruiting compliance and risk teams within fintech or financial services, including awareness of how domain knowledge and regulatory requirements shape searches.
• Comfort learning technical concepts, discussing candidate backgrounds with specialized hiring teams, and translating complex requirements into effective sourcing and assessment strategies.
• Willingness and ability to take on engineering searches when needed, including information security engineering roles (prior experience recruiting engineers is a plus).
• Experience partnering with senior leaders and executives, influencing hiring decisions, and acting as a trusted advisor throughout a search.
• Strong sourcing and networking skills, including building pipelines for specialized, emerging, or confidential hiring needs.
• Strong communication skills, clarity and precision, and an ownership mindset.
• Interest in improving workflows through thoughtful use of data, automation, AI, and process improvements.
• Experience using recruiting tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Greenhouse, Gem, Ashby, Metaview, or similar.

• Compensation: USD 125,100 - 165,500 per year
