Job summary

Vox Media is seeking a Senior Recruiter to own full-cycle recruiting for editorial, podcast, revenue, and operations across Vox and New York Magazine in a fast-moving media environment. The role reports to People leadership in a permanent, full-time capacity, with a NYC office location.

You will partner with senior managers to scope roles, build hiring plans, and maintain proactive talent pipelines, while delivering an excellent candidate experience and running bias-aware interview processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (in-house preferred).
• Experience recruiting editorial, creative, and audio/podcast talent.
• Ability to advise/have strategic conversations with hiring managers, including senior leaders.
• Commitment to equitable, bias-aware hiring processes from outreach to offer.

THE ROLE

Vox Media is looking for a Senior Recruiter to own full-cycle hiring for editorial (New York Magazine & Vox), podcast (Vox Media Podcast Network), revenue, and operations roles across the company. This is a role for someone who has run full-cycle recruiting before, is comfortable being a trusted advisor to hiring managers (including senior ones), and genuinely enjoys the craft of matching talented people to the right opportunity, especially in a media environment where roles and needs can shift quickly. Candidates should be fans of New York Magazine, Vox, and our podcast network. This is a permanent, full-time position. This job is benefits-eligible. What You’ll Do

• Manage full-cycle recruiting — intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer, and close — for a portfolio of roles spanning editorial, podcast/audio, revenue, and operations functions.
• Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders to scope open roles, build hiring plans, and act as a strategic advisor throughout the search.
• Build and maintain proactive, representative talent pipelines through sourcing, referrals, and passive-candidate outreach, rather than relying solely on inbound applications.
• Deliver a high-touch candidate experience that reflects well on Vox Media — timely communication, clear expectations, and thoughtful follow-through.
• Structure and run consistent, bias-aware interview processes, including writing job scorecards and coaching interviewers on effective, legally sound interviewing.
• Manage multiple concurrent searches with competing timelines, keeping hiring managers and candidates aligned without dropping the details.
• Own offer strategy and negotiation in partnership with People leadership, balancing candidate expectations with internal equity and approved compensation bands.
• Track and report on pipeline health, time-to-fill, and other recruiting metrics, and use that data to flag risks and recommend adjustments.
• Stay current on the media, journalism, and podcasting talent landscape, and bring market insight back to hiring teams.

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (strong preference for in-house) — you have a strong track record for closing candidates.
• Specifically, experience recruiting editorial, creative, and audio/podcast talent.
• You strive for a positive candidate experience — each open role builds on your ability to grow the talent network.
• Strong sourcing skills — you don’t wait for the perfect candidate to apply; you go find them.
• Stakeholder management is second nature for you — you feel confident advising and pushing back constructively on hiring managers, including senior leaders.
• You know that diverse slates alone don’t move the needle — you build hiring processes that are equitable by design, from first outreach to final offer.
• Excellent organizational skills — you can run a busy, varied req load without letting candidates or hiring managers fall through the cracks.
• Systems expertise — you feel comfortable managing an ATS and partnering with the Head of People to build recruiting process.
• Clear, warm, and timely communication — you represent Vox Media to every candidate you talk to, whether they’re hired or not.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

Pay Range $100,000 - $125,000 USD
