Peninsula Metropolitan Park District is seeking a part-time Recreation Coordinator for Senior Programs in Gig Harbor. The role develops, delivers, and evaluates programs for older adults, spanning enrichment, health, arts, and trips.

You’ll lead classes, manage budgets, and coordinate staff and partners to expand community services. The position emphasizes program evaluation, compliance with laws and district policies, and strong customer support.

Qualifications

• Two years of increasingly responsible recreational programming experience for older adults.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in recreation, public administration, education, or related field(s).
• Associate degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Administration and two additional years of experience may substitute for the required degree.
• Knowledge of program planning, budgeting, and evaluation processes.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and instruction to older adult program participants.
• Develops, promotes, and implements program components, including evaluation metrics.
• Prepares program reports and maintains records of attendance and performance.
• Ensures activities comply with laws, policies, and district procedures.
• Recruits, supervises, and evaluates staff and instructors.
• Manages budgets, procurement, contracts, and invoicing for programs.
• Builds partnerships with community groups for outreach and marketing.
• Provides responsive customer support for registrations, inquiries, and complaints.
