Job summary

Stew Leonard's in Danbury is hiring a Receiving Manager to oversee the Receiving Department at a single retail location. You will supervise the Receiving team to support Sales/Operations with product fulfillment and supply chain goals.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience in receiving, warehouse and logistics, and a focus on safety, accuracy, and cost control. Strong leadership and WMS proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in receiving, warehouse, supply chain, and logistics concepts.
• Familiar with material handling equipment with respect to operation and safety.
• Knowledge of health and sanitation codes (i.e. COOL).
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Great Plains and other proprietary applications (Transfer and labor reporting).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Introduce labor reducing equipment and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, execute and monitor inbound and outbound receiving processes to company standards including dock security, inbound transfer processing, direct-to-store shipments, supply deliveries, refuse and recycling initiatives.
• Daily upkeep and organization of a fully operational warehouse and distribution facility.
• Prioritize and orchestrate the activities of various warehouse personnel to meet daily, weekly and fiscal objectives.
• Inspect and document the physical condition of the warehouse, material handling equipment and take corrective action when necessary.
• Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety and security principles.
• Assist Human Resources with respect to interviewing, selection, and training of new warehouse team members.
• Adhere to departmental budgets with focus on expenses and labor; manage resources with Operations/Sales.
• Oversee inventory control processes, cycle counts, accuracy, and shrink reduction.
