Job summary

Hologic is seeking a Receiving Inspector to inspect incoming materials, components, and subassemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements in a medical device manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will interpret GD&T, read blueprints, and verify documentation while using precision measuring tools. Strong detailing, GDP proficiency, and experience with Excel are essential for timely quality records and supplier reviews.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 1-2 years in medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Oracle ERP or Agile PLM system beneficial.
• ASQ Certified quality inspector beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming inspection activities in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, drawings, and inspection plans.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Verify dimensional, visual, labeling, and documentation requirements for incoming materials and components.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and pin gauges.
• Accurately record inspection results and complete quality records per GDP.
• Review supplier documentation including CoC, test reports, and inspection records.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials and initiate nonconformance events when required.
• Support nonconformance investigations as needed.
• Maintain compliance with QMS and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize Excel to complete inspection records.
• Communicate with internal customers to resolve inspection discrepancies.
• Ensure daily inspection priorities are met.
• Perform first article inspections.
• Complete training requirements timely.
• Adhere to standard production schedules and work overtime as necessary.
• Act as advocate for compliance, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
